Driving Digital Content Advancements: Enabling Creativity on Sanpō-Blockchain

Sanpō Blockchain is an open source public blockchain network from Japan optimized for conducting digital content business, created by hard-forking Ethereum, one of the most famous blockchains in the world.

As of November 2022, seven organizations are participating in its node operation. This organization is operated in the form of a DAO, with all participants operating nodes on an equal footing and with different objectives.

Node operators of general blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum perform management and operation with the main purpose of earning monetary rewards (=tokens) called block generation rewards and transaction fees, but Sanpō Blockchain’s node operators do not receive these rewards The node operator of Sanpō Blockchain does not earn these rewards from node operations. The blockchain is structured in such a way that users do not need any tokens to execute transactions, and node operations allow them to conduct their respective digital content-related businesses.

Shaping a Better Future: Sanpō-Blockchain's Role in Addressing Societal Challenges

Sanpō Blockchain, derived from the Japanese concept of “Sanpō Yōshi” or “the good for all three parties,” is a blockchain network that embraces a public-minded approach, considering the well-being of providers, users, and society as a whole in building a successful business ecosystem.

At the core of any blockchain network’s value proposition lies the security of data, ensuring immutability and a sustainable security framework. Ethereum, which pioneered the potential of smart contracts, maintains its network security by requiring users to pay transaction fees known as GAS fees as a defense against malicious attacks. However, the unpredictably high fees during network congestion have posed challenges for businesses leveraging Ethereum.

To address the scalability and fee-related issues known as blockchain’s scalability problem, various blockchain networks, including Ethereum, have adopted solutions such as Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus and Layer 2 scaling techniques. However, the core developers of Sanpō Blockchain approached this challenge from a different perspective, reimagining the essence of blockchain technology.

In the Sanpō Blockchain network, node operators do not impose transaction fees on users. Instead, they sustain node operations through revenue generated from premium services offered on the Sanpō Blockchain. In essence, Sanpō Blockchain operates as a freemium model for running a blockchain network.

Traditionally, blockchain networks have imposed charges on users for every data transaction, be it uploading videos on YouTube, receiving streaming content, or commenting on videos. Such a restrictive model raises questions about the future of blockchain as the next generation of the internet. The core developers of Sanpō Blockchain firmly answer this question with a resounding “NO.”

Sanpō Blockchain envisions a democratic infrastructure where users have the freedom to choose and participate. Therefore, it breaks away from the constraints of a token-dependent ecosystem where users are obligated to pay fees for every action. Sanpō Blockchain strives to provide a network that is free from transaction fee limitations, maintaining an open and accessible future where blockchain is truly democratized, empowering individuals worldwide to utilize it with ease and confidence.
